Red, Rock & Blue - We are so grateful for the support and generosity of so many people. Local Sportscaster Jacques Doucet is one of those great supporters. Jacques and his team host the annual Red, Rock & Blue invitational softball tournament and concert every summer. Over 80 teams come together to help local military charities. The tournament will be held the weekend of June 23rd- 25th at Oak Villa in Baton Rouge.
The "Celebrity Sorta Game" will be held on Friday, June 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at Oak Villa. Lot's of great local celebrities will be participating. This is a great family event.
June 8th at 8:00 p.m. RR&B presents a great concert featuring The Michael Foster Project "Who's Bad". Join us at the Varsity Theatre.
July 7th at 8:00 p.m. RR&B presents another great concert featuring the Atomic Punks, Appetite for Destruction and Pandora's Box. Varsity Theatre.

We are so excited that our chapter will be presenting the second annual Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana Chapter 1 Camille Alyse Begnaud Military Scholarship at this year's Celebrity Sorta Softball Game on June 23rd at 6:30 pm. at Oak Villa. Gates open at 5:00 pm.
Gold Star Mother's Day Luncheon - it is our mission to always honor and remember the sacrifices of our fellow military families. Our chapter has hosted a beautiful luncheon every Mother's Day for the past 11 years honoring our Louisiana Fallen Heroes Families. This year's luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017.

Wreaths Across America Ceremony - in conjunction with the event that is held at Arlington each December, our chapter hosts the Wreaths Across America ceremony at the Baton Rouge National Cemetery. We seek sponsorship of wreaths, then invite the public to attend and help us lay the wreaths on servicemen and women's graves. The mission of Wreaths Across America is to Honor*Remember*Teach! The event will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 11:00 a.m.
Socks of Love - We visit the Reserve Veterans War Home each February to bring some Valentine Day cheer to the residents. It's a great opportunity to let our older veterans know they are not forgotten. We will be visiting the home on February 20, 2016.
Veteran's Day - our chapter looks forward to attending as many ceremonies as possible throughout Veteran's Day. We are so pleased to participate in the Gonzales Veteran's Day Ceremony by pinning area Veterans with a lapel honoring their service. The ceremony is held on November 11th at 11:00 a.m.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS/PROJECTS
Military Family Day - our chapter assist the Louisiana Senate during the Spring Legislative Session to honor state heroes. Resolutions are prepared, read at a special ceremony and presented to the families in attendance. Date TBD.
Memorial Day Garden of Flags and Ceremony - Every Memorial Day weekend we honor the Louisiana natives who gave their life in service to our country. We plant 11,000 American Flags on the grounds of the Louisiana State Capitol. Each flag represents a fallen hero from the American Revolutionary War to present day. The public is invited to participate in planting the flags Please join us on Friday, May 26, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
On Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 9:00 a.m., we will host a Memorial Day Ceremony in front of the steps of the State Capitol opening the Garden of Flags. Names will be read of the Fallen Heroes from 9/11 to present day. The public is again invited to attend and experience the true meaning of Memorial Day.
Closing ceremonies and pick up will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 4:00 p.m., with the playing of TAPS.
