We would like to share with you a wonderful opportunity for your community to show your appreciation and thanks to our troops.  The Blue Star Mothers is sponsoring the “Operation Yellow Ribbon” campaign and we are asking the citizens of the great state of Louisiana to get involved!  For those of you visiting our website residing in other states, please show your soldiers how much we all care by starting your own campaign.

 

In preparation of the Louisiana Army National Guard 256th Infantry Brigade returning from their tour of duty in Iraq, we are encouraging every city in the state to join us in welcoming our sons and daughters home.  We would like to see the level of patriotism that was shown immediately after 9/11, but we need your help in spreading the word.  

 

We are asking you, the citizens of Louisiana, to contact your area schools, businesses, churches, and civic organizations and ask them to hang a yellow ribbon or a welcome home sign in their yard or building.  We would like to see everything in place by Labor Day and keep everything in place until all of our troops are home.  We realize it is short notice, but with your help, we know this campaign can and will be a success!  Please join us in giving our heroes a true Louisiana Welcome Home!
